Role Overview
Frontend Engineer (Remote) at Files.com. Own the frontend layer of the platform, building React interfaces that interact with high-throughput APIs. This is a broad, high-autonomy role where engineers shape architecture and collaborate across web, desktop, mobile, and internal tools.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the frontend interfaces for complex IT workflows
- Integrate React UI with backend APIs (high request volume)
- Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver intuitive, fast user experiences
- Influence frontend and cross-stack architecture and own meaningful outcomes
- Work across projects spanning web, desktop, mobile, and internal tools
- Contribute to open-source efforts
Requirements
- Strong frontend engineering background with React
- Experience building interfaces that integrate with APIs
- Ability to operate with high autonomy and drive outcomes
- Comfortable collaborating across engineering, design, and product
Nice to Haves
- Experience contributing across the stack (mobile/desktop/backend)
- Testing experience and/or comfort working with established test suites
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment workflows
- Interest in open-source contributions
