Front End Engineer (React.js, UX)

Role Overview

Staff Front End Engineer for the Web Visualization Tooling team. You will design, develop, and maintain advanced web tooling and visualization systems that improve feedback loops for machine learning engineers and support autonomous vehicle system performance.

Responsibilities

• Establish cross-team standards and best practices for web development
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and effective delivery
• Architect and scale a modern frontend ecosystem using React and TypeScript (and Vue)
• Partner with ML, UX, data services, and annotation teams to align tooling with real workflows
• Build and maintain mission-critical UI systems for internal stakeholders
• Design intuitive user experiences for complex, data-intensive workflows
• Apply performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability best practices
• Ship features quickly and iterate based on user feedback
• Mentor junior engineers and delegate tasks to support team growth

Requirements

• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture
• Experience with Vue.js
• Strong understanding of UX design principles and usability
• Ability to work independently with high ownership and accountability
• Excellent interpersonal skills and mentorship experience
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable frontend systems
• Proven cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
• Strong documentation and design habits
• Experience working directly with customers to identify needs and develop solutions
• High aptitude for learning new technologies
