About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Front End Engineer to join our remote team at Capital One Software. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and maintenance of our marketing website, ensuring it is optimized for performance, accessibility, and user experience. As a key member of the engineering team, you will collaborate closely with content strategists, designers, and marketing stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical solutions. Your expertise will help enhance our digital presence, improve core web vitals, and ensure our website adheres to SEO best practices and accessibility standards. This position is ideal for a seasoned front-end engineer with a strong background in modern web technologies, cloud integration, and a passion for creating scalable, high-quality web applications. The role offers the flexibility of part-time work, allowing associates to work between 20 to 32 hours per week at a prorated salary, making it suitable for professionals seeking a balanced work schedule. Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in software engineering (internship experience does not qualify) At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js, including App Router, server components, and SSG/SSR strategies Expertise in TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and responsive, accessible component development Hands-on experience integrating with headless CMS platforms and third-party APIs Experience working directly with marketing and design teams to translate business needs into technical solutions Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows At least 3 years of experience with Contentful CMS or similar content management systems Familiarity with design systems such as Figma and ShadCn UI Ability to establish and maintain reliable staging and production deployment processes Strong understanding of web performance optimization, SEO, and accessibility standards Responsibilities Architect, develop, and maintain the company's marketing website using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS, focusing on performance and scalability Collaborate with design teams to implement pixel-perfect UI components with a keen eye for detail Integrate third-party services including analytics, CMS platforms, Marketo Forms, and A/B testing tools Establish and manage reliable staging and production deployment pipelines ensuring quick and error-free releases Work closely with marketing stakeholders to understand campaign and product goals, translating them into effective technical solutions Drive improvements in Core Web Vitals scores, SEO best practices, and web accessibility across all web pages Govern and optimize development workflows, including branching strategies, release processes, and incident response Continuously evaluate and improve website performance, security, and user experience Benefits Competitive salary with prorated compensation based on part-time hours (20-32 hours per week) Performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans Financial wellness programs and retirement savings options Flexible work arrangements supporting work-life balance Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning Inclusive and diverse workplace culture that values innovation and collaboration Equal Opportunity Capital One is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all employees.
