Front End Engineer (JavaScript, React)

Role Overview

Lead Front End Engineer (React/Next.js) for a remote team at Capital One Software. Own the design, development, and maintenance of the marketing website, ensuring it is fast, accessible, and easy for teams to manage.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain the marketing website using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with design teams to implement pixel-perfect, accessible UI components.
• Integrate the site with headless CMS and third-party APIs/services, including:
  • Analytics
  • Contentful CMS
  • Marketo Forms
  • A/B testing tools
• Establish and manage staging and production deployment processes (reliability and speed).
• Partner with marketing stakeholders to translate campaign/product goals into technical solutions.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, SEO practices, and web accessibility standards.
• Govern and optimize development workflows (branching, release processes, incident response).

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience not counted).
• 1+ year experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong proficiency in React and Next.js, including:
  • App Router
  • Server Components
  • SSG/SSR strategies
• Solid understanding of TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and responsive, accessible components.
• Experience integrating with headless CMS and third-party APIs.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• 3+ years of experience with Contentful.
• Experience with design systems tools such as Figma and shadcn/ui.
