About the role

Role Overview

The Front-End Developer builds and maintains high-quality, responsive digital experiences across National University’s WordPress platform. You will translate UX and content requirements into front-end code, ensure performance and accessibility, and support analytics and engagement/conversion goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain WordPress pages, templates, and reusable components for scalable site experiences.
  • Convert UX designs into responsive front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Follow design systems and coding standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and performance.
  • Optimize page speed, load times, and cross-device/browser compatibility.
  • Implement and support analytics tracking (tagging and data layer requirements) for accurate reporting.
  • Maintain and update CMS content and page structures with accuracy and accessibility.
  • Perform front-end testing/QA for functionality, responsiveness, accessibility, tracking accuracy, and performance before release.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in front-end or web development (preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with WordPress (theme customization, page builders, CMS management).
  • Experience building responsive, mobile-first websites across device/screen sizes.
  • Web performance optimization and SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with analytics tracking concepts, including GA4, tagging, and data layer.
  • Basic understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues.
  • Collaboration with UX/design teams and stakeholders; comfortable adapting to evolving tools/standards.
