Role Overview

LMI is seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to support a government healthcare client. You will collaborate with designers, backend developers, and stakeholders to build responsive, accessible, high-performance web interfaces. The role may be remote.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and product stakeholders to implement user-centered front-end features
Write clean, maintainable, efficient code using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Build with accessibility in mind, following WCAG 2.1 and accessibility best practices
Optimize front-end performance for smooth desktop and mobile interactions
Ensure cross-browser compatibility and implement responsive design
Perform thorough testing and debugging, contributing to unit and integration tests
Participate in peer code reviews with constructive feedback
Partner with stakeholders on requirements, planning, estimation, and delivery
Create and maintain technical documentation
Use AI-powered development tools (e.g., autocompletion, debugging assistants, automated testing frameworks) to improve efficiency

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional front-end development experience (or equivalent hands-on experience) and a STEM bachelor’s degree (or relevant experience)
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience with modern front-end frameworks/libraries: Vue, React, and/or Angular (including ecosystems such as Redux, Vuex, React Query)
Experience with REST APIs and/or GraphQL
Experience deploying applications to cloud environments (e.g., AWS)
Proven expertise building responsive applications with cross-browser compatibility
Proficiency with Git and/or Bitbucket
Experience in Agile/Scrum teams
DevOps practices experience, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

Desired Qualifications

Working knowledge of federal security, privacy, and compliance standards such as FISMA, HIPAA, or FedRAMP
