Role Overview
LMI is seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to support a government healthcare client. You will collaborate with designers, backend developers, and stakeholders to build responsive, accessible, high-performance web interfaces. The role may be remote.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and product stakeholders to implement user-centered front-end features
- Write clean, maintainable, efficient code using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Build with accessibility in mind, following WCAG 2.1 and accessibility best practices
- Optimize front-end performance for smooth desktop and mobile interactions
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and implement responsive design
- Perform thorough testing and debugging, contributing to unit and integration tests
- Participate in peer code reviews with constructive feedback
- Partner with stakeholders on requirements, planning, estimation, and delivery
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Use AI-powered development tools (e.g., autocompletion, debugging assistants, automated testing frameworks) to improve efficiency
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional front-end development experience (or equivalent hands-on experience) and a STEM bachelor’s degree (or relevant experience)
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks/libraries: Vue, React, and/or Angular (including ecosystems such as Redux, Vuex, React Query)
- Experience with REST APIs and/or GraphQL
- Experience deploying applications to cloud environments (e.g., AWS)
- Proven expertise building responsive applications with cross-browser compatibility
- Proficiency with Git and/or Bitbucket
- Experience in Agile/Scrum teams
- DevOps practices experience, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of federal security, privacy, and compliance standards such as FISMA, HIPAA, or FedRAMP
