Front End Developer

Role Overview

The Front End Web Developer supports ongoing enhancements to Ellsworth’s corporate website, partnering with marketing and cross-functional teams to deliver polished digital experiences. The role reports to corporate headquarters in Germantown, WI and is open to hybrid or remote work.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain website updates, refining layouts, components, and responsive interfaces to improve usability, accessibility, and UX.
• Develop and update web pages, templates, and reusable components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks, and page/content tools (e.g., Makeswift and BigCommerce B2B Page Builder).
• Assist with API integration and connecting data sources/systems to support site functionality and scalable content operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues, including layout inconsistencies, performance problems, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ensure pages meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of front-end development experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks on responsive, content-driven sites.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Strong understanding of accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and UX/UI fundamentals.
• Knowledge of front-end architecture, component-based design, and API/CMS integration.
• Experience with performance optimization and debugging.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Experience with CMS platforms and content-driven websites.
• Experience working in environments that combine custom development with visual/page builder tools (e.g., Makeswift, BigCommerce B2B Page Builder).

Preferred

• Hands-on experience building pages/templates/reusable components in Makeswift and/or BigCommerce B2B Page Builder.
• Familiarity with B2B eCommerce UX patterns.
