Role Overview

GrabJobs is hiring a Front-End Developer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as a technical authority for front-end architecture and federal accessibility compliance. You will shape the UI for IRS taxpayer-facing applications, ensuring responsive, intuitive, and accessible web experiences.

Active Public Trust clearance required

Responsibilities

Lead front-end architecture and technical approach for scalable, reusable UI components
Guide implementation of responsive, accessible, user-friendly interfaces using React/JavaScript/HTML/CSS
Ensure compliance with federal accessibility standards via rigorous code reviews and best practices:
- USWDS, ODG, WCAG 2.2 AA
Collaborate with product owners, UI/UX designers, back-end developers, and stakeholders
Optimize front-end performance
Integrate APIs securely
Support CI/CD using tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins
Mentor junior developers and promote accessibility and security best practices
Act as a liaison across the Agile lifecycle to align design, accessibility, and development teams

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
10+ years front-end development experience
7+ years in senior/SME roles (IT or government projects)
Deep expertise in:
- React
- JavaScript (ES6+)
- HTML5
- CSS3
- Cloud environments such as AWS and Kubernetes
Knowledge of federal design standards (USWDS, ODG) and WCAG 2.2 AA
Ability to develop scalable, reusable UI component libraries
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (and eligibility for higher investigations if needed)

Preferred Qualifications

CompTIA Security+ (Sec+) or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II
Experience with Agile/Scrum and deploying enterprise-scale web applications
AWS certifications
Agile certifications
Security credentials and accessibility certifications (e.g., CPACC, WAS)

Salary / Benefits

$140,000–$165,000 annually (commensurate with experience/skills/certifications)
