About the role
Role overview
The Front-End Application Developer will join an agile, mission-driven team supporting large-scale government environmental data and sustainability systems. You’ll build and maintain modern, accessible, high-quality user interfaces that help stakeholders track, report, and manage critical environmental information. The role is fully remote and emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement, with occasional full-stack contributions when needed.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the full Agile lifecycle: planning, design, development, testing, and deployment of front-end-focused applications.
- Build and maintain responsive, scalable, and accessible UIs using modern web frameworks.
- Partner with business analysts, designers, scrum masters, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to backend services using Node.js when required to support full-stack integration.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to software engineering best practices.
- Help maintain technical documentation (design specs, user guides, release notes).
- Promote Agile best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to tools and processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a developer with a strong emphasis on front-end.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks: React or Angular.
- Experience with Node.js and willingness to contribute across the stack.
- Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application architectures.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and relational database concepts (preferred).
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong UX/UI awareness and ability to apply design principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, remote-first environment.

- $115,000–$132,000 annual salary (based on experience).
