About the role

Role Overview

You will start your engineering career as a Fresher Java Developer on Joveo’s Java-powered backend systems. The role focuses on learning production-grade Java development by shipping real services and working on a codebase that supports millions of daily transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Write backend microservices and APIs in Java under senior guidance
Learn and apply Spring Boot and modern Java engineering practices
Fix bugs, add unit tests, and participate in feature development
Contribute to code reviews and learn from reviewing others’ code
Build foundational knowledge of databases, APIs, and distributed systems basics
Grow through structured mentorship, 1:1s, and real project ownership

Required Skills & Qualifications

Recent graduate or up to 1 year of Java development experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
Strong grasp of Java fundamentals (OOP, collections, exception handling)
Familiarity with Spring/Spring Boot (or equivalent Java frameworks)
Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms
