About the role

Role Overview

Joveo is hiring a Fresher Java Developer to start an engineering career on Joveo’s Java-powered backend systems. You’ll ship real services and learn production-grade development through mentorship and real project ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Write Java code for backend microservices and APIs under senior guidance
Learn Spring Boot and modern Java engineering practices in a production environment
Fix bugs, add unit tests, and contribute to feature development
Participate in code reviews and learn by reviewing others’ code
Develop foundational knowledge of databases, APIs, and distributed systems basics
Grow through structured mentorship, 1:1s, and increasing project ownership

Required Skills & Qualifications

Recent graduate or up to 1 year of Java development experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
Strong Java fundamentals: OOP, collections, and exception handling
Familiarity with Spring / Spring Boot (or equivalent Java frameworks)
Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
Strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms

Nice-to-Haves

Experience working with unit testing practices in Java (implied by unit tests requirement)
