Freelance Software Engineer

Role Overview

Freelance Software Engineer (web developer) supporting a Shopify store on an hourly, as-needed basis. You’ll step in to handle advanced code changes, bug fixes, and customizations beyond the internal team’s current capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement custom code changes and bug fixes within Shopify stores
• Edit and maintain Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the Shopify environment
• Collaborate with internal team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Respond promptly to requests and communicate progress
• Test and deploy changes without disrupting store functionality

Requirements

• Proven experience with Shopify development, including Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for Shopify environments
• Ability to implement custom features and resolve complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Reliable, responsive, and able to work independently on an hourly basis
• Experience working with remote teams (a plus)
