Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Mindrift is seeking a Freelance Mobile App Developer to join the Tendem project and build native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and/or Android. This part-time remote role involves shipping stable, performant, user-friendly apps across multiple categories.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine mobile apps (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content) using native or cross-platform frameworks
• Build apps with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive UIs that follow iOS HIG and Material Design conventions
• Integrate device capabilities: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs; manage offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization features when needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Review, debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Troubleshoot platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with at least one of:
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Swift/SwiftUI (iOS)
  • Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Solid understanding of mobile UI patterns, navigation, and state management
• Experience integrating REST APIs, handling async data, and managing local storage
• Experience integrating native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and app store submission
• Ability to work independently and deliver complete mobile features
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (App Store / Google Play links preferred) (required)
• English proficiency (B2 or above) (required)

Nice to Have

• Experience with monetization: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field
