About the role
Role Overview
Freelance Mobile App Developer for the Tendem project (Tendem.ai). You’ll build native and cross-platform mobile applications for real-world use cases on iOS, Android, or both.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine mobile apps across categories (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content)
- Develop with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
- Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
- Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
- Connect apps to backend REST APIs; handle offline state, caching, and sync
- Implement monetization features when needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
- Review, debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
- Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
- Hands-on experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps
- Strong understanding of mobile UI patterns, navigation, and state management
- Experience integrating REST APIs and managing async data + local storage
- Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
- Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and App Store / Google Play submissions
- English proficiency B2 or above (required)
- Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Firebase, Supabase, or similar backend services
- Experience with in-app purchases/ads/subscriptions
- Proficiency with Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android) and/or SwiftUI (iOS)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering/IT (or related)
Logistics & Compensation
- Part-time remote; estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases
- Earn up to $60/hour equivalent depending on level and contribution pace
