Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Freelance (part-time remote) Mobile App Developer for the Tendem project at Mindrift. You will design, build, and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and/or Android, applying mobile engineering skills across the full development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Build mobile apps using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect apps to backend APIs; handle offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization when required: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Review, debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Fix platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Strong foundation in mobile UI/UX patterns, navigation, and state management
• Experience integrating REST APIs, async data, and local storage
• Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with mobile build tooling, code signing, and App Store / Google Play submissions
• Ability to work independently and ship complete features
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency B2 or above

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing monetization (in-app purchases/ads/subscriptions)
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field

Logistics & Timing

• Part-time remote
• Estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases (estimate; not a guaranteed workload)

Compensation

• Up to $60/hour equivalent, depending on level and pace of contribution.
