Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Freelance Mobile App Developer for the Tendem project (Mindrift). You will design, build, and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android across app categories such as utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, and content apps.

Responsibilities

• Build mobile applications using React Native, Flutter, Swift/SwiftUI (iOS), or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Create responsive mobile UIs that follow platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs and manage offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization features when needed (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
• Debug, optimize, refactor, and improve correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Resolve platform-specific issues and prepare/distribute builds (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps
• Strong understanding of mobile UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
• Experience integrating REST APIs, async data, and local storage
• Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and App Store / Google Play submissions
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency B2 or above

Nice to Have

• Experience with Firebase, Supabase, or similar backend services
• Experience implementing in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field

Logistics / Compensation

• Part-time remote; estimated 10–20 hours per week during active phases
• Compensation up to $60/hour equivalent depending on level and pace of contribution
