Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Freelance Mobile App Developer to join the Tendem project and build native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android. This is a part-time, remote opportunity where you’ll handle the mobile development lifecycle and ship production-ready apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine iOS/Android mobile applications (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, and content)
• Build with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features (camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics)
• Connect to backend APIs and manage offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions) when required
• Debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Resolve platform-specific issues and prepare releases (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with at least one: React Native, Flutter, Swift/SwiftUI (iOS), or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Strong knowledge of mobile UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
• Experience integrating REST APIs, async data handling, and local storage
• Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and app store submission
• Experience implementing in-app purchases and/or ads/subscriptions (plus)
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps with App Store / Google Play links preferred (required)
• English proficiency B2+ (required)

Nice to Have

• Backend familiarity such as Firebase, Supabase, or similar
• Experience with in-app purchases/ads/subscriptions

Project / Time Expectations

• Estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases (estimate only)

Compensation

• Up to $60/hour equivalent, depending on level and pace of contribution.
