Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Mindrift is seeking a Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android) to join the Tendem project. You’ll build and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications for real-world use cases, shipping stable, performant, user-friendly apps for iOS, Android, or both.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and iterate mobile applications across categories like utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, and content
• Build mobile apps using React Native, Flutter, Swift/SwiftUI (iOS), or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Create responsive mobile UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs; handle offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization features when needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Debug, optimize, refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Resolve platform-specific issues and prepare releases for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Strong knowledge of mobile UI patterns, navigation, and state management
• Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs, async data, and local storage
• Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and submitting to App Store / Google Play
• Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Ability to work independently and ship complete features
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above

Nice to Have

• Monetization experience (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
• Backend familiarity such as Firebase or Supabase
• Degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s)

Project Details

• Part-time remote; estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases
• Compensation: up to $60/hour equivalent depending on level and contribution pace
