About the role
Role Overview
Freelance Mobile App Developer for the Tendem project (Mindrift). Build stable, performant, user-friendly mobile applications for iOS and/or Android using native or cross-platform approaches.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine mobile apps across categories (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content)
- Build mobile apps using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
- Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
- Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
- Connect apps to backend APIs; implement offline state, caching, and synchronization
- Implement monetization features where needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
- Debug, optimize, and refactor code for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
- Resolve platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
- Hands-on experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps
- Strong knowledge of mobile UI patterns, navigation, and state management
- Experience integrating REST APIs, async data handling, and local storage
- Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and app submission
- Ability to work independently and ship complete features end-to-end
- Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
- English proficiency B2 or above
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience implementing in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions
- Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/IT or related field
Logistics & Compensation
- Part-time / remote; estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases
- Compensation up to $60/hour equivalent, depending on level and pace
