Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Freelance Mobile App Developer (part-time remote) for the Tendem project. You will design, build, and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and/or Android, using either native or cross-platform frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build mobile apps using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive mobile UIs that follow platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs; implement offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization when required: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Resolve platform-specific issues and prepare releases for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with at least one of:
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Swift / SwiftUI (iOS)
  • Kotlin / Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Strong knowledge of mobile UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
• Experience integrating REST APIs, handling async data, and managing local storage
• Experience with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with mobile build/release workflows: code signing and submission to App Store / Google Play
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store/Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency B2+ (required)

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with monetization: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant technical field

Project Expectations & Compensation

• Estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases
• Compensation: up to $60/hour equivalent, depending on level and pace
