Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Freelance Mobile App Developer to join the Tendem project (part-time, remote). You will design, build, and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and/or Android across domains such as utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, and content.

Responsibilities

• Build mobile apps using one or more of: React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive mobile UIs that follow platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs and handle offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization features where required: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Review, debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps
• Solid understanding of mobile UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
• Experience integrating REST APIs, async data handling, and local storage
• Familiarity with build/signing and submitting to App Store / Google Play
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store/Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency B2 or above

Nice to Have

• Experience with in-app purchases/ads/subscriptions
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
• Education in CS/Engineering/IT or related field

Workload & Compensation

• Estimated 10–20 hours/week during active project phases
• Compensation: up to $60/hour equivalent, depending on contribution level and pace
