Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Freelance Mobile App Developer (Part-time, remote) for the Tendem project. Build native and cross-platform mobile applications for real-world use cases on iOS and Android.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine mobile apps (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content)
• Build with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs; handle offline state, caching, and sync
• Implement monetization features when needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Resolve platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with at least one:
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Swift / SwiftUI (iOS)
  • Kotlin / Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Strong mobile UI/navigation/state management fundamentals and platform guideline adherence
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling async data
• Familiarity with local storage/offline patterns
• Experience with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Build/distribution experience: code signing and submitting to App Store / Google Play
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency: B2 or above

Nice to Have

• Experience with monetization: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS/Engineering/IT or related fields

Logistics & Compensation

• Part-time remote; estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases
• Contributors can earn up to $60/hour equivalent depending on level and pace
