About the role
Role Overview
Freelance Mobile App Developer to join the Tendem project at Mindrift, building native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android. This is a part-time remote opportunity focused on shipping stable, performant, and user-friendly apps.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine mobile applications across categories (e.g., utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content) for iOS, Android, or both
- Build with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
- Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
- Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
- Connect apps to backend APIs; handle offline state, caching, and synchronization
- Implement monetization when required (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
- Review, debug, optimize, and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
- Resolve platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience
- Hands-on experience with at least one of:
- React Native
- Flutter
- Swift / SwiftUI (iOS)
- Kotlin / Jetpack Compose (Android)
- Solid understanding of mobile UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
- Experience integrating REST APIs, handling async data, and managing local storage
- Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
- Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and app store submissions
- Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (App Store / Google Play links preferred)
- English proficiency: B2 (Upper-intermediate) or above
Nice-to-haves
- Experience implementing in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions
- Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase, Supabase, or similar
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field
Project Logistics & Compensation
- Estimated effort: 10–20 hours/week during active phases
- Compensation: up to $60/hour equivalent depending on level and pace of contribution
