Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Mindrift is seeking a Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android) to join the Tendem project. In this role (called an AI Pilot), you will collaborate with AI agents handling repetitive tasks while you provide mobile engineering expertise to ensure apps are stable, performant, and production-ready on real devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine mobile applications (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content) for iOS, Android, or both
• Implement mobile UIs that follow platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Build with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Integrate native device features such as camera, push notifications, location, storage, and biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs, including offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization where needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Review AI-generated mobile code and refactor for correctness, performance, battery usage, and maintainability
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field (Bachelor’s/Master’s) (plus)
• Strong foundation in mobile UI/UX patterns, navigation, state management, and delivering stable mobile experiences
• Hands-on experience with at least one:
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Swift / SwiftUI (iOS)
  • Kotlin / Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Experience integrating REST APIs, async data handling, and local storage
• Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with mobile build/distribution workflows (code signing, submitting to App Store / Google Play)
• English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above (required)
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience implementing monetization (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase

Workload / Time Expectations

• Estimated 10–20 hours per week during active phases (not guaranteed; applies only while the project is active).
