Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Mindrift is seeking a Freelance Mobile App Developer (AI Pilot) to support the Tendem project. You will design, build, and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and/or Android, collaborating with AI agents for repetitive tasks while you apply mobile engineering expertise, platform judgment, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain mobile apps using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive mobile UIs that follow platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect apps to backend APIs and implement offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Add monetization capabilities when needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Review and refactor AI-generated mobile code for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare releases for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field (Bachelor’s/Master’s is a plus)
• Strong foundation in mobile development fundamentals: UI/UX patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
• Hands-on experience with at least one of:
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Swift/SwiftUI
  • Kotlin/Jetpack Compose
• Experience integrating REST APIs, managing async data, and local storage
• Familiarity with mobile build/release workflow (code signing and App Store / Google Play submissions)
• Experience shipping apps and independently delivering complete mobile features
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency B2 or above (required)

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing monetization (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
• Familiarity with backend services like Firebase or Supabase

Working Time & Location

• Part-time remote (estimated 10–20 hours/week during active project phases)
• Role is for a Tendem freelance project
