Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Mindrift is seeking a Freelance Mobile App Developer (the company calls the role an AI Pilot) to join the Tendem project. You’ll design, build, and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications and collaborate with AI agents for repetitive tasks—while you ensure quality, performance, and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Build mobile applications using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive mobile UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate device and native features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect apps to backend APIs; handle offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization when required: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Evaluate AI-generated code and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience
• Strong mobile foundations: UI/UX patterns, stable high-quality mobile experiences
• Experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps; integrate platform APIs and handle the full mobile lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with at least one:
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Swift / SwiftUI (iOS)
  • Kotlin / Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Solid understanding of mobile UI patterns, navigation, and state management
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling async data
• Familiarity with local storage
• Experience with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with build/release basics: code signing and submission to App Store / Google Play
• Experience implementing monetization (in-app purchases/ads/subscriptions) is a plus
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English: B2 or above

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with backend services like Firebase or Supabase
• Experience implementing ads/subscriptions or other monetization features
• Degree in Computer Science / Engineering / IT or related

• Part-time remote (estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases)
