Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Freelance (part-time) Mobile App Developer for the Tendem project at Mindrift. In this role, you (an “AI Pilot”) collaborate with Tendem Agents that handle repetitive tasks, while you provide mobile engineering expertise to build and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine mobile applications for iOS, Android, or both (e.g., utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content)
• Implement responsive mobile UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Build with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect apps to backend APIs; handle offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Add monetization when required (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
• Evaluate AI-generated mobile code and refactor for correctness, performance, battery efficiency, and maintainability
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare distributable builds (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps; work with platform APIs and the full mobile development lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of mobile UI/UX patterns, navigation, and state management
• Experience integrating REST APIs, handling async data, and managing local storage
• Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and submitting to App Store / Google Play
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency: B2 or above (required)

Nice to Have

• Experience implementing in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
• SwiftUI / Jetpack Compose experience
