Role: Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Mindrift is looking for an AI Pilot (freelance mobile developer) to support the Tendem project by building and refining native and cross-platform mobile applications. You’ll collaborate with Tendem Agents that handle repetitive tasks, while you provide mobile engineering expertise, platform judgment, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine mobile apps across categories (e.g., utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content)
• Build with React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs; manage offline state, caching, and sync
• Implement monetization features when needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Review AI-generated mobile code and refactor for correctness, performance, battery use, and maintainability
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile development experience (required)
• Strong foundation in mobile app development and platform-specific UI/UX patterns
• Hands-on experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps
• Experience integrating REST APIs, handling async data, and managing local storage
• Familiarity with native device APIs: notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics
• Experience with mobile build/signing and submitting to App Store / Google Play
• Ability to work independently and refine AI-assisted output into production-ready apps
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
• English proficiency: B2 or above (required)

Nice to have

• Degree in CS/Engineering/IT (or related)
• Monetization experience (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
• Backend familiarity such as Firebase or Supabase
• Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, Swift with SwiftUI

Time & Compensation

• Estimated 10–20 hours/week during active project phases
• Pay: up to $60/hour
