About the role

Role overview

Mindrift is looking for Freelance Mobile App Developers (iOS/Android) to join the Tendem project and build native and cross-platform mobile applications. In this role (“AI Pilot”), you collaborate with Tendem Agents for repetitive tasks, while you apply mobile engineering expertise to ensure the apps are stable, performant, and ready for real users on real devices.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and refine mobile applications for categories such as utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, and content apps
Develop using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
Integrate native device features (camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics)
Connect to backend APIs and implement offline state, caching, and synchronization
Implement monetization features when required (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
Review AI-generated code, refactor for correctness, performance, battery usage, and maintainability
Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
Strong foundation in mobile UI/UX patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
Hands-on experience shipping mobile apps and integrating platform APIs
Experience integrating REST APIs, async data handling, and local storage
Experience with mobile build and release workflows (code signing, App Store / Google Play submission)
Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)
English proficiency: B2 or above (required)

Nice to have

Experience implementing in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions
Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
React Native / Flutter / SwiftUI / Jetpack Compose experience (any one is acceptable)
Familiarity with SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose specifically

Work schedule & compensation

Estimated 10–20 hours/week during active project phases
Compensation: up to $60/hour (freelance)
