Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android)

Role Overview

Mindrift is seeking a Freelance Mobile App Developer (AI Pilot) for the Tendem project. You’ll build native and cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and/or Android, collaborating with “Tendem Agents” that handle repetitive tasks while you provide mobile engineering expertise, platform judgment, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and refine mobile applications (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content) for iOS, Android, or both
• Build using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
• Create responsive UIs that follow platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
• Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
• Connect to backend APIs; handle offline state, caching, and synchronization
• Implement monetization when needed (in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions)
• Review and refactor AI-generated mobile code for correctness, performance (including battery), and maintainability
• Debug platform-specific issues and prepare releases for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
• Hands-on experience with one or more:
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Swift/SwiftUI (iOS)
  • Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android)
• Strong knowledge of mobile UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
• Experience integrating REST APIs, async data handling, and local storage
• Experience integrating native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
• Experience with mobile build/release workflows, including code signing and app store submissions
• English proficiency: B2 or above (required)
• Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store / Google Play links preferred)

Nice to Have

• Experience with monetization features: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
• Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field
