About the role

Role Overview

Freelance Mobile App Developer (AI Pilot) for the Tendem project (Tendem AI). You’ll design, build, and refine native or cross-platform mobile apps (iOS, Android, or both) while collaborating with AI agents that handle repetitive tasks. Your job is to apply mobile engineering judgment, perform quality control, and ensure apps are stable, performant, and ready for real devices and users.

Responsibilities

Build mobile applications using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
Create responsive mobile UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
Connect apps to backend APIs and implement offline state, caching, and synchronization
Implement monetization features where needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
Review AI-generated mobile code, refactor for correctness, performance, battery use, and maintainability
Debug platform-specific issues and prepare builds for distribution (e.g., TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
Degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field (Bachelor’s/Master’s preferred)
Strong foundation in mobile UI/UX patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
Hands-on experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps, integrating platform APIs, and covering the full mobile lifecycle
Experience with REST APIs, async data handling, and local storage
Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and submission to App Store / Google Play
Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (App Store / Google Play links preferred) (required)
English proficiency B2 or above

Nice to Have

Experience implementing in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions
Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
Experience with SwiftUI and/or Jetpack Compose

Time & Work Model

Part-time remote; estimated 10–20 hours/week during active phases (estimate only)

Compensation

Up to $60/hour (freelance project rate)
