Role Overview

Mindrift is hiring a Freelance Mobile App Developer (iOS / Android) for the Tendem project. In this AI Pilot role, you collaborate with Tendem Agents that handle repetitive tasks, while you provide mobile engineering expertise to build, refactor, and quality-check production-ready mobile apps.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and refine mobile applications (utilities, fitness/wellness, games, productivity, delivery, content) for iOS, Android, or both
Build using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
Create responsive UIs following platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
Connect to backend APIs; implement offline state, caching, and sync
Implement monetization when required: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
Review AI-generated code, refactor for correctness, performance, battery usage, and maintainability
Debug platform-specific issues and prepare releases for TestFlight and Play Console

Requirements

3+ years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
Degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field (preferred)
Strong foundation in mobile app development, platform-specific UI/UX, and shipping stable iOS/Android experiences
Hands-on experience with at least one:
- React Native
- Flutter
- Swift / SwiftUI (iOS)
- Kotlin / Jetpack Compose (Android)
Solid understanding of UI patterns, navigation, state management, and platform guidelines
Experience integrating REST APIs, async data, and local storage
Experience with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
Experience with build tools, code signing, and app store submission
In-app purchases/ads/subscriptions experience is a plus
Portfolio of shipped mobile apps with App Store / Google Play links preferred (required)
English proficiency B2+ (required)

Project / Time Expectations

Estimated 10–20 hours per week during active phases (estimate; not guaranteed)

Compensation

Up to $60/hour
