About the role

Role Overview

Freelance Mobile App Developer (AI Pilot) for the Tendem project at Mindrift. You will design, build, and refine native and cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, Flutter, Swift, or Kotlin, collaborating with “Tendem Agents” that handle repetitive tasks while you provide engineering judgment and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Build and refine mobile apps for iOS, Android, or both using React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), or Kotlin (Android)
Create responsive UIs that follow platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design)
Integrate native device features: camera, push notifications, location, storage, biometrics
Connect to backend services via APIs; manage offline state, caching, and synchronization
Implement monetization features where needed: in-app purchases, ads, subscriptions
Review AI-generated mobile code and refactor for correctness, performance, battery use, and maintainability
Debug platform-specific issues and prepare releases for distribution (TestFlight, Play Console)

Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant mobile app development experience (required)
Experience shipping iOS and/or Android apps with platform APIs
Strong foundation in mobile UI/UX patterns, navigation, and state management
Experience integrating REST APIs, handling async data, and managing local storage
Familiarity with native device APIs (notifications, camera, location, storage, biometrics)
Experience with mobile build tools, code signing, and submitting to App Store / Google Play
Ability to work independently and ship complete features
Portfolio of shipped mobile apps (required; App Store/Google Play links preferred)
English proficiency B2 or above (required)

Nice-to-haves

Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/IT (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
Experience with monetization implementations (IAPs, ads, subscriptions)
Familiarity with backend services such as Firebase or Supabase
Experience with SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose

Workload & Compensation

Time expectation: approximately 10–20 hours/week during active phases (estimate; not guaranteed)
Compensation: up to $60/hour (hourly; value stated as a maximum)
