Role overview

Freelance MarTech Solutions Architect (Tealium Experience) working with client teams to design and architect end-to-end marketing technology ecosystems. The role blends customer experience strategy, data architecture, and marketing technology implementation to deliver scalable, data-driven experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Run client discovery workshops to understand business goals, current MarTech ecosystems, data flows, constraints, and integration needs.
  • Define and document target-state architectures across CDPs, CRM, marketing automation, and analytics tools (with scalability and governance).
  • Translate business requirements into technical solution designs, including trade-offs, options, effort estimates, and risks.
  • Produce technical documentation such as:
    • Architecture diagrams
    • Data models
    • Event tracking frameworks
    • Implementation roadmaps
  • Guide end-to-end delivery with engineering teams and project managers to ensure alignment with business outcomes.
  • Design integration and data activation strategies, including ETL / reverse ETL pipelines for omnichannel customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support technical decision-making and manage dependencies for timely delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development or technical engineering experience.
  • 5+ years integrating third-party systems and designing ETL-based solutions.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with CDPs, specifically Tealium (or Mixpanel).
  • Experience working directly with clients/business stakeholders in a consulting or solutions-focused capacity.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing CDP or marketing automation architectures across the full lifecycle.
  • Experience with APIs and at least one integration/frontend technology such as JavaScript, HTML, or CSS.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Heroku, or iPaaS.
  • Ability to communicate technical architecture clearly to non-technical business audiences.

Nice to have

  • Tools: Braze, Iterable, Klaviyo, Customer.io, Segment, RudderStack, mParticle.
  • Reverse ETL platforms: Hightouch, Census.
  • Strong data modeling and event-driven architecture principles; SQL, JSON.
  • Attribution, analytics, and marketing performance measurement experience.
