Role overview

Founding Prototype Development Lead (Equity-Based) will be a hands-on technical leader who takes ownership of building Nexar Dynamics’ first working prototype of the XI Core Device. This is an early-stage founding position with equity compensation, focused on turning an engineering concept into a functional MVP.

Responsibilities

Lead technical development of the XI Core Device prototype.
Define prototype architecture with the founders.
Design, assemble, and validate prototype subsystems.
Select and evaluate robotics, automation, and motion control solutions.
Coordinate prototype integration across mechanical, electronic, and software systems.
Support ongoing creation and improvement of the Bill of Materials (BOM).
Collaborate with the Hardware & Manufacturing Engineer on component selection and sourcing.
Work with the Computer Vision Engineer to integrate AI-driven object detection into the robotic workflow.
Troubleshoot engineering challenges throughout prototyping.
Support investor demonstrations and pilot preparation.
Maintain technical documentation throughout development.

Requirements / preferred experience

Experience in one or more of:
- Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation
- Prototype Development, Product Development
Strong advantage in one or more areas:
- Robotics/automation systems
- Motion control
- Mechanical design
- CAD tools such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape
- Embedded hardware integration
- Rapid prototyping
