About the role
Role: Founding Product Designer
Founding Product Designer at a remote-first FinTech startup. You will work directly with the co-founders with broad scope across Product and UX design, and you will help shape product direction (the company does not have PMs).
What you’ll do
- Collaborate closely with co-founders and Product Engineers to set product direction.
- Lead user-focused design by:
- asking sharp questions to understand user workflows and business logic
- identifying what truly needs solving before starting design
- spending meaningful time talking to users
- Design a product with both B2B and B2C elements, requiring high UI/UX polish.
- Create solutions for complex financial UX challenges where industry patterns may not exist.
- Build and maintain UI/UX quality, pushing the envelope to set the standard.
Requirements
- Prior Product Designer experience and a strong portfolio demonstrating it.
- Experience designing web applications and the ability to reason about complex B2B workflows.
- Familiarity with Figma.
- Experience building or contributing significantly to a design system.
- Must be based in the United States and have used financial products in the US.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong product sense and comfort working without dedicated PMs.
- Ability to handle highly complex, novel financial UI/UX problems without clear pattern matching.
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary: $120K – $175K
- Equity: 0.25% – 1.0%
- Benefits include 100% paid employee health plans and an employer-funded 401(k) match, plus dental and vision.
