About the role

Role Overview

As the first Design hire at SyntheticFi, you will own end-to-end product design for a complex fintech platform. You’ll partner directly with co-founders and engineers to turn intricate financial mechanics into intuitive B2B and B2C experiences, while building a design system from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research to clarify complex workflows and technical business logic
  • Design and iterate on B2B advisor dashboards and B2C client experiences
  • Ensure a high level of polish for data-dense, institutional-grade interfaces
  • Build and maintain a foundational design system (patterns, standards, and brand digital identity)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience
  • Background building complex B2B, fintech, data-heavy, or enterprise-level software
  • Strong Figma skills
  • Proven ability to create comprehensive design systems connecting creative vision to technical implementation
  • Excellent problem framing and high visual design standards
  • Comfort leading in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience shaping design culture/visual identity as a founding design leader (implied by role as first design hire)
