About the role

Role Overview

As Prosper Health’s first People Operations Lead, you will build the people systems from the ground up to scale the organization from 350 to 1,000+ clinicians over the next 12 months. You’ll own the full people operations surface area and report into the Head of Clinical Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company-wide people systems
    • Own PEO administration, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and policy documentation across employee lifecycle events
  • Scale clinician lifecycle operations
    • Streamline onboarding, leaves of absence, exits, and role/status changes; partner with Clinical Ops and Provider Growth
  • Support compensation planning
    • Conduct market reviews, help create pay bands and raise frameworks, and ensure compensation changes are executed cleanly
  • Lead employee relations end-to-end
    • Manage investigations, terminations, accommodations, and associated documentation to be fast, calm, and legally defensible
  • Build clinician performance management systems
    • Create playbooks, decision trees, and templates so most performance issues are resolved without needing CEO or Head of Clinical Ops involvement
  • Build corporate people systems
    • Partner with the CEO on onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and structured feedback for the corporate team

Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of people operations or HR experience in a startup, consulting, or high-growth operational environment
  • Direct exposure to employee relations and pay/benefits administration
  • First-principles problem solving for people issues (build what’s needed, not generic HR best practices)
  • Scale-focused systems design that handles 1,000+ clinicians, including edge cases and failure modes
  • Strong sound judgment (implied by the role’s high-stakes, defensible processes)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with a PEO and/or managing legally defensible HR processes in a fast-growing organization
