About the role

Role overview

You’ll be the Founding Infrastructure Engineer responsible for the platform layer that turns Omnigraph into an easy-to-deploy product across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments. You’ll own the control plane and the deployment mechanisms, building repeatable, “one-click” infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate platform components for Omnigraph, including:
- Control plane for cluster management: one-click cluster creation, prewarmed cluster pools, branch/query/graph visibility, multi-tenancy, and usage/cost observability.
- Deployments for all customer environments (hosted cloud, customer VPC, on-prem, hybrid), including cluster cloning for sandboxes/pilots and an object-storage-first architecture.
- Security & identity: supply-chain integrity, zero trust, identity/SSO/access policy, secrets/credential flows, and policy-engine integration (Cedar).
- DevOps/DevEx: GitOps workflows, IaC standards, CI/CD, and environment management that enables a small team to ship quickly.
Build control-plane machinery (not just consuming clusters) with reliability and clear failure semantics.
Enable sovereignty: ensure deployments are repeatable and “effortless” while supporting multiple deployment models and data visibility controls.

Requirements (Must have)

Hands-on Kubernetes control-plane engineering.
Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code skills (declarative mindset).
Proven experience building data-platform infrastructure end-to-end.
GitOps as a default approach (infrastructure changes via code review rather than tickets).
Security depth: supply-chain / zero-trust, identity, SSO, and cyber-minded architecture.
Track record emphasizing reliability, correctness, and failure semantics.
Agent-native workflow: comfortable orchestrating agents and working in Claude Code/Codex/Open Code.
High ownership and shipping mindset.

Nice to have

Object storage internals (S3 semantics, conditional writes, S3-compatible backends).
Lakehouse/columnar formats (Arrow, Parquet, Iceberg, Delta, Lance).
Rust or willingness to work near the engine boundary.
Enterprise delivery experience (procurement, compliance, strict on-prem installs).
Time in OSS infra/dev-tools communities.
