Role Overview

Founding Infrastructure Engineer at Kastra Labs Inc. Build the high-performance runtime systems that authorize every action AI agents take—enabling secure, compliant, deterministic execution in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and own production Kubernetes environments on GKE, using Terraform and GitOps for global, high-availability deployments.
• Build distributed policy evaluation services to serve millions of decisions/day with sub-millisecond latency.
• Develop AI runtime integrations for platforms like Claude Code, Cursor, and Anthropic to ensure secure tool execution and API invocation.
• Work with founders Carlos Jimenez and Fernando Vintacourt to establish technical architecture for highly regulated enterprise customers.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Go or Rust backend systems.
• Extensive experience operating Kubernetes in production.
• Strong background in distributed systems and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Security/infrastructure or low-latency systems experience (e.g., API gateways, Envoy, OPA).

Nice to Haves

• Builder mindset and experience in security infrastructure.
• Familiarity with policy evaluation/authorization patterns for deterministic, secure operations.
