Founding Frontend Engineer

Role Overview

As a Founding Frontend Engineer at Effective AI, you’ll be part of the initial team and help design and build the core product from the ground up. You’ll focus on building user experiences for agentic, multi-turn, multi-tool systems that empower insurance professionals to work efficiently with large volumes of documents.

Responsibilities

• Design and build foundational UX patterns for long-horizon task completion with multi-turn, multi-tool agentic systems
• Enable actuaries and underwriters to work with thousands of documents in parallel via access to coding and coding agents
• Architect and implement the frontend stack using modern web frameworks focused on performance and maintainability
• Work on TypeScript-based frontend while also contributing to the backend/core agentic platform when needed
• Collaborate closely with design, backend, and ML engineers to deliver end-to-end experiences
• Rapidly prototype and iterate features, balancing speed and quality in a startup environment

Requirements

• Deep experience building production-grade web applications with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Strong focus on performance, accessibility, and pixel-perfect implementation
• Solid UI/UX sensibilities and ability to work effectively with designers
• Passion for AI and strong problem-solving mindset for ambiguous challenges
• Collaborative, fast-learning builder who wants to have an outsized impact on a small team
