About the role
Role overview
Founding Designer at matcha.fm — fully remote across Europe, UK, US, and Canada. You’ll help shape the product from the ground up with a strong focus on craft, systems thinking, and simplifying complex experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own design end-to-end, from early concepts through to shipped product
- Build the design system and visual language from scratch
- Work closely with founders to shape product direction
- Design user experiences that help people discover work they actually want
- Set the quality bar as the product and team scale
Requirements
- 4+ years designing digital products
- Strong portfolio demonstrating product thinking (not just visual polish)
- Comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions without perfect information
- Proficiency in Figma
Nice to have
- Startup experience
- Previous founder experience (bonus)
Equity / team
- 5% to 10% equity
- Fully distributed team
