About the role
Role Overview
Leap is hiring a Founding Designer to define how Leap shows up to patients and families. This is a rare, hands-on design role with a company-wide mandate: shape the patient-facing experience across discovery, understanding options, scheduling care, preparing for treatment, staying engaged, and reactivating when support is needed.
Responsibilities
- Own patient-facing design standards across marketing, onboarding, education, therapy support, and reactivation.
- Design the end-to-end member journey by partnering with Member Growth, care teams, clinical operations, product, and content to reduce confusion, skepticism, overwhelm, and drop-off points.
- Build scalable design systems (reusable patterns, components, templates, QA processes, AI-assisted workflows, and production standards) across web, email, direct mail, print, swag, educational materials, and internal workflows.
- Improve activation via high-performing creative, designing direct-response campaigns across direct mail, email, landing pages, paid ads, and multi-step funnels with a focus on clarity, trust, conversion, and action.
- Simplify healthcare complexity into clear, responsible patient experiences without oversimplifying clinically nuanced information.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution.
- Strong user judgment and design taste.
- Clear communication and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous problems.
- Modern production fluency across multiple channels.
- Not required to be a copywriter, researcher, product manager, or front-end developer—but should collaborate effectively across those disciplines.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience designing patient/member experiences and healthcare/clinical-operations-adjacent workflows (implied by the role’s mandate).
