About the role

Role Overview

Join ConductorOne as a Forward Deployed Engineering Manager (full remote). You’ll lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers delivering customer integrations and automation, while shaping and scaling the Forward Deployed Engineering program. The role blends hands-on technical work with engineering leadership and program-building.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers to ensure high-quality delivery of customer integrations and automation.
Define and scale the Forward Deployed Engineering program by building repeatable processes for:
- project scoping
- delivery
- quality
- handoff
Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to identify customer-work patterns and help turn them into productized features.

Requirements

Thrives in a fast-paced, iterative environment and can help others succeed in ambiguous situations.
Strong backend engineering experience in Go (preferred) or other languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Java.
Experienced engineer/technical leader who enjoys building teams.
Fluent in APIs, webhooks, and modern identity standards including SCIM, SAML, and OAuth.
Experience building integrations with third-party services.
Proven record managing or mentoring engineers in customer-facing or professional services contexts.
Can balance hands-on delivery with leadership and program-building.
Experience building or operating a forward deployed / solutions engineering / professional services function at a SaaS company.
Skilled at designing processes/tooling for scalable delivery of customer-facing engineering work.
Experience contributing to reusable connector/SDK frameworks (e.g., connector runners/connectors).
Identity & access management experience with Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, or Active Directory.
Comfortable using cloud and engineering operations tools such as AWS/GCP, observability (e.g., Datadog/Prometheus), and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-Haves

Helped define or influence product direction based on customer implementation learnings.
Experience with reusable connector/SDK frameworks (examples mentioned in posting).
