Forward Deployed Engineer - Agentic AI Start Up

Role Overview

Forward Deployed Engineer for an agentic AI startup. You will act as the bridge between the core engineering team and enterprise customers—designing, building, deploying, and integrating AI solutions in complex, real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise customers to understand business goals, data landscapes, and technical constraints
• Design and deploy agentic AI applications and integrate the core platform into customer systems and workflows
• Build connectors, pipelines, and custom interfaces to move enterprise data into the platform securely and efficiently
• Prototype and deliver new use cases using:
  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Multi-agent orchestration
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor for pilots, integrations, and scaled deployments
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape roadmap priorities from customer insights
• Contribute to best practices, documentation, and reusable frameworks to accelerate customer delivery

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or applied ML
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript (or similar)
• Experience with APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines
• Comfortable engaging C-suite and senior technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills; able to work autonomously in ambiguous, fast-moving startup settings

Bonus / Nice-to-Haves

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases
• Prior experience in an AI/data/B2B SaaS company or in solutions engineering/implementation
• Familiarity with multimodal content generation and document processing
• Cloud experience across AWS, GCP, or Azure, including MLOps tooling
• Experience with API design and integration for AI services
