About the role

Role overview

Join Datafold as a Forward Deployed Data Engineer. You will take ownership of AI-automated data platform migration projects in a customer-facing capacity, combining data engineering, AI, and project leadership.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end data migration projects using Datafold’s AI migration technology
Act as the primary customer contact, manage expectations of stakeholders, and escalate risks
Configure Datafold’s Migration Agent and supervise migration execution
Manage multiple migration projects while coordinating with Datafold’s engineering team

Requirements

3–6 years in data consulting, professional services, or a customer-facing data engineering role
Strong understanding of the modern data stack, including:
- dbt, Snowflake, Databricks
- Orchestration tools
- Key patterns such as stored procedures, streaming, and incremental processing
Extreme ownership: identify, surface, and fix problems and rally the team to help
Excellent communication skills (comfortable in exec check-ins and technical design sessions)

Nice-to-haves

Exposure to legacy data stack and patterns (e.g., ETL, stored procedures)
Experience with data platform migration projects
Being an AI power user using AI daily and continuously improving usage
