Food Delivery Driver

Role Overview

Join the delivery team as a Food Delivery Driver. The role offers either flexible part-time hours or a more stable full-time schedule with consistent work and pay.

Responsibilities

• Order Pickup & Delivery: Pick up food orders from local restaurants/partner eateries, verify order accuracy before leaving, and deliver safely, accurately, and on time.
• Customer Service: Represent the company professionally—greet customers warmly, follow special delivery instructions, and ensure a positive delivery experience.
• Route Navigation: Use GPS/navigation apps (e.g., Google Maps, Waze) to plan efficient routes and adapt to traffic, road closures, and weather.
• Order Accuracy & Discrepancy Handling: Cross-check items against receipts and coordinate with dispatch/restaurant staff to resolve missing or incorrect items before delivery.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep your vehicle clean, safe, and roadworthy; complete basic pre-shift checks (fuel, tires, lights) and report issues promptly.
• Payment Handling: Process customer payments/tips and delivery confirmations via the company delivery app; maintain accurate delivery/payment records.
• Communication: Provide clear updates to dispatch, restaurant partners, and customers on order status and estimated arrival times.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow local traffic laws, company driving policies, and food safety/temperature handling guidelines.
• Reporting: At the end of each shift, submit delivery completions, mileage, fuel expenses, and any incidents/complaints through the reporting system.

Requirements

• Age: 18+ (21+ for alcohol delivery where applicable)
• Driver’s License: Valid current license with a clean driving record; no major violations or DUI/DWI in the past 3 years
• Vehicle: Reliable personal vehicle (car/scooter/bicycle depending on zone) with proof of insurance and current registration
• Navigation: Comfortable with GPS/navigation apps; strong local street/zone knowledge is a plus
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs; comfortable with stairs/apartments and delivering in all weather
• Customer Focus: Friendly, professional, able to handle complaints calmly
• Time Management: Strong organization and ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
• Smartphone Proficiency: Comfortable using a smartphone and the delivery app

Nice to Haves

• Strong knowledge of local neighborhoods and delivery zones
