Food Delivery Driver

Role Overview

Join the delivery team as a Food Delivery Driver. The role offers flexibility for part-time drivers or consistent full-time hours, focusing on safe, accurate, and on-time food deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Order Pickup & Delivery: Pick up food orders from local restaurants/partner eateries; verify order accuracy; deliver safely, accurately, and in excellent condition.
• Customer Service: Represent the company professionally; greet customers warmly; handle special delivery instructions; ensure a positive delivery experience.
• Route Navigation: Use GPS/navigation apps (e.g., Google Maps, Waze) to plan efficient routes and adapt to traffic, road closures, and weather.
• Order Accuracy: Verify contents against receipts; resolve discrepancies or missing items by communicating with dispatch/restaurant staff before delivery.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean, safe, and roadworthy; perform basic pre-shift checks (fuel, tires, lights); report mechanical issues.
• Payment Handling: Process customer payments/tips and delivery confirmations via the company delivery app; maintain accurate delivery and payment records.
• Communication: Keep dispatch, restaurant partners, and customers updated on order status and estimated arrival times.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow local traffic laws, company driving policies, and food safety/handling guidelines.
• Reporting: Submit shift-end reporting on completions, mileage, fuel expenses, and any complaints/incidents through the company system.

Requirements

• Age: Must be 18+ (and 21+ for alcohol delivery where applicable).
• License/Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean record; no major violations or DUI/DWI in the past 3 years.
• Vehicle: Reliable personal vehicle (car/scooter/bicycle depending on zone) with proof of valid insurance and current registration.
• Navigation: Comfortable using GPS/navigation apps; local street/neighborhood knowledge is a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs and navigate stairs/apartments/different delivery environments in all weather.
• Customer Service: Friendly, professional, and able to handle complaints and special requests calmly.
• Time Management: Strong organization and ability to manage multiple deliveries while meeting delivery targets.
• Smartphone Proficiency: Comfortable using a smartphone and the delivery app to manage orders.

• Strong knowledge of local streets, neighborhoods, and delivery zones.
