Food Delivery Driver

Role Overview

You will work as a Food Delivery Driver for the company’s delivery team, delivering food orders from local restaurants to customers within your assigned delivery zone. The role offers flexibility for part-time work or a more consistent full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Order pickup & delivery: Pick up orders from local restaurants/partner eateries, verify order accuracy before leaving, and deliver safely, on time, and in excellent condition.
• Customer service: Represent the company professionally; greet customers warmly, follow special delivery instructions, and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Route navigation: Use GPS/navigation apps (e.g., Google Maps, Waze) to plan efficient routes and adjust for real-time traffic, road closures, and weather.
• Order accuracy & issue resolution: Verify items against receipts, and promptly communicate with dispatch/restaurant staff to resolve discrepancies or missing items.
• Vehicle maintenance: Keep your vehicle clean, safe, and roadworthy; complete basic pre-shift checks (fuel, tires, lights) and report issues.
• Payment handling: Process payments/tips/delivery confirmations through the company delivery app and maintain accurate delivery/payment records.
• Communication: Keep dispatch, restaurant partners, and customers informed about order status and estimated arrival times.
• Compliance & safety: Follow local traffic laws and company driving policies; adhere to food safety/handling guidelines and deliver at correct temperature.
• Reporting: Submit deliveries, mileage, fuel expenses, and any incidents/complaints at the end of each shift via the company system.

Requirements

• Age: Must be 18+ (and 21+ where alcohol delivery applies).
• Driver’s license: Valid current license with a clean driving record; no major violations or DUI/DWI within the past 3 years.
• Vehicle: Reliable personal vehicle (car/scooter/bicycle depending on zone) with proof of insurance and current registration.
• Navigation: Comfortable using GPS/navigation apps; strong knowledge of local delivery areas is a plus.
• Physical requirements: Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs and navigate stairs/apartments and varied delivery environments in all weather.
• Customer service: Friendly, professional, able to handle complaints calmly.
• Time management: Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple deliveries and meet delivery targets.
• Smartphone proficiency: Comfortable using a smartphone and the delivery app to manage orders.
