Flutter Mobile Engineer

Role Overview

NOCD is seeking an experienced Flutter Mobile Engineer to scale its mobile platform and expand access to OCD treatment. You’ll build and evolve cross-platform mobile experiences in Flutter, collaborating with engineering leadership, product, design, and clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build new Flutter applications and help maintain and evolve NOCD’s flagship Flutter app for Android.
• Own and improve the patient-facing mobile telehealth experience on Android.
• Collaborate with backend engineers and contribute Python endpoints as needed for mobile features.
• Partner with product, design, and clinical teams to solve real user problems.
• Support lightweight analytics and experimentation needs with data/marketing partners.
• Help shape mobile engineering practices, patterns, and code quality as the team grows.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional mobile development experience.
• Flutter and native Android experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Flutter development.
• Strong proficiency in Flutter and Dart, including modern state management and performance considerations.
• Experience shipping, maintaining, and iterating on production iOS and/or Android apps.
• Portfolio/examples of shipped apps/features.
• Strong UI/design sensibility and attention to interaction details.
• Solid understanding of mobile app architecture, design patterns, and testing practices.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ownership mindset in a fast-moving environment.

Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Java/Kotlin) experience.
• Python experience or willingness to learn.
• Interest in data analytics infrastructure/tools (e.g., BigQuery, Colab Notebooks).
• Entrepreneurship/indie hacking/freelancing/agency experience.

Location & Work Model

• Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 3x/week)

Compensation

• $125,000–$170,000 annually (based on qualifications and experience).
